Meet Atlas!

Dreaming of a puppy who already comes with his foundational training? Atlas is a nearly 7-month-old shepherd mix with the smarts and sweetness to match his striking looks. This lucky pup has spent the past two months in an intensive training program with Retrieving Independence (a Nashville-based nonprofit that trains service dogs in a prison-based training program), where he learned foundational skills: housebreaking, crate training, leash manners, socialization, basic cues, and more.

That means Atlas’ future family gets to enjoy all the fun parts of puppyhood—playtime, adventures, and bonding—without the stress of starting from scratch. He already has a strong foundation, and upon adoption, his family will be given a list of the specific cues he has mastered so they can keep his training consistent at home.

Atlas is friendly, eager to please, and ready to keep learning as he grows. He’s the kind of dog who will thrive with a family excited to enjoy both his playful puppy side and his well-mannered side.
