Born and raised in a small western Kentucky town, Kara was surrounded by a large and loving family that always included a dog. Throughout her childhood, her pets were always there; not just a part of life but as a member of the family. A creative and vivacious child, she loved playing dress-up with her dogs to sometimes include clothing, a stroller, and even roller skates. A Kentucky gal through and through, she remains very close to her family and enjoys returning to her roots to spend quality time with them as often as she can.
A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Kara now works as a Marketing Manager of a regional accounting firm. She is a Young Leaders Council Alumna and is also a part of the Junior League of Nashville, where is actively involved. From YLC, she was introduced to Agape Animal Rescue and the rest is history. With a true heart for rescues, she has a four-legged daughter named Stella Rhea, rescued from a puppy mill/hoarding bust in Kentucky.
Over the years she has remained passionate about the animals in her own life. After moving to Nashville, she found herself inspired by Agape and their mission of finding a dog their forever home. She also found Agape’s welcoming and caring attitude inviting. Kara currently serves as Secretary on Agape’s Board of Directors and said that she wants to “help them spread the love.” She hopes to put her education, her leadership skills, her dedication, and her love of animals into practice during her work with Agape.
